Our Kindergarten

Diversity as a Guiding Principle

Our educational institution promotes interpersonal encounters and creates a safe space for children, parents and professionals. We value social skills such as tolerance, consideration and respect. Our pedagogical concepts take into account the individual development of each child.

Our facility is attended by children from a wide variety of countries of origin and thus children with different cultural and religious backgrounds. Therefore, we consciously do not bind ourselves to a particular denomination in our education.

Therefore, selected elements of various pedagogical approaches are incorporated into the pedagogical concepts of the care services and facilities.

For us, the child is in the foreground and our work is oriented towards the development of the individual children.

Child Development

Our pedagogical concept pursues clear goals that are oriented towards the holistic development of the children. Through a variety of play situations and offers in the most diverse areas of development, we want to support the children in their development.

Through observation and documentation tools, we record the upcoming developmental steps and challenges of each child. This information helps us to provide individually adapted support and encouragement.

Our focus is on strengthening the children in their entire personality and accompanying their development in the best possible way. We create an environment in which they can unfold, discover and develop their abilities.

Our pedagogical team always strives to implement the goals of our concept and to create a stimulating learning environment in which each child is individually supported.

At our facility, children's rights are of great importance and indispensable. We emphasize that each child receives active attention and is supported in his or her individual development process, taking into account the child's individual maturity.

The rights of children are guiding principles for us, which we follow and implement in our daily work. We create an environment in which every child can exercise these rights and develop into a self-confident and self-reliant child.

Educational Areas

Educational areas provide a way to categorize the educational process of children. They allow for the organization of activities such as offers, free play impulses, projects, and other activities into specific areas to represent thematic and content-related focuses. However, it is important to note that these educational areas are often interconnected in practice and cannot be easily separated from one another. They serve as a helpful framework for educators to structure their work and assess whether there are sufficient opportunities for children to engage in comprehensive and fundamental experiential and educational processes.

Multilingualism

The Vielfalt Group provides an ideal environment for children to learn multiple languages. Multilingualism promotes cognitive abilities, intercultural competence, and strengthens children's identities. The Vielfalt Gruppe aims to enhance problem-solving skills and cognitive flexibility in multilingual children. Through diverse linguistic experiences and supportive pedagogical staff, multilingualism is actively fostered in the kindergarten setting. An inclusive environment is created where multilingualism is seen as a strength.

Health

At Kindergarten, we lay important foundations for healthy living through a comprehensive program designed to promote physical, mental and emotional health. Healthy eating is a focus, with freshly prepared meals that provide all the necessary nutrients for growth and development. Exercise and physical activity are central, with a variety of games and sports activities, as well as yoga for movement, relaxation and body awareness.

Mental health is strengthened through a caring environment and activities to promote self-awareness, mindfulness and social skills. Hygiene is integral, with emphasis on hand washing, hygiene practices and disease management to protect children. Our holistic approach helps children feel safe, supported and healthy.

Creativity

In our facilities, the children have access to a variety of materials and tools to give free rein to their imagination. Whether painting, handicrafts, modeling, handicrafts or making music - with us, the children have the opportunity to implement their own ideas and develop their artistic abilities. We attach great importance to an inspiring and supportive environment, so we regularly offer creative projects and activities.

Digitization

Through the use of digital media, children from diverse linguistic, cultural, and cognitive backgrounds can learn through play. Educational apps and interactive learning games allow children to respond to their own abilities and interests and learn at their own pace. This promotes inclusion and enables all children to participate in the educational process.

Digitization also facilitates communication between stakeholders in the diversity Kita.

In addition, we are one of the few daycare centers in Germany to have signed a license with Apple Schools. This means that we can offer bilingual, linguistic or creative activities via our iPads, using special apps designed for the children.

Pre-school Preparation

We provide targeted preparation for children's transition to elementary school. We foster their cognitive, linguistic, social, and motor development. Social and emotional skills, fine and gross motor skills, cognitive abilities, language proficiency, cooperation with schools, field trips, and project-based learning are additional focus areas that we promote in our pre-school program, alongside the regular kindergarten activities.

Projects

Throughout the kindergarten year, we continuously engage children in project-based learning activities covering a wide range of topics. These projects are designed to spark their curiosity and promote their individual interests and abilities. By immersing themselves in hands-on experiences and investigations, children actively participate in the learning process and develop a deeper understanding of various subjects. These projects encourage critical thinking, problem-solving skills, collaboration, and creativity, fostering a love for learning that extends beyond the classroom.

Parents

Family Promotion

Our companionship and educational programs allow parents to share and meet. Children and parents are actively integrated into our care, so our professionals provide holistic support for family challenges. Likewise, our thematic parents' evenings and activities promote shared learning.

Our goals are to create comprehensive development and positive experiences for children by encouraging social contact, agency, and enjoyment.

Parents gain insight into child behavior and practical suggestions for loving, respectful and appreciative relationships.

We create a trusting space for children and encourage social interaction so that children learn to express their needs.

Together with the parents, we reflect on educational behavior and offer solutions. In this way, parents experience understanding and support.

These goals form our basis for promoting optimal child development and supportive parenting.

Dealing with conflicts

The many differences between the children and their families are considered a natural part of everyday life at our childcare facility. This also creates different challenges for everyone involved. Children's fears, illnesses, contentious relationships, and even anger and aggressive behavior are part of the everyday tasks of parents and pedagogical staff.

Family, nutritional, health and language support counseling are offered by our educational provider to ensure that there are no breaks between the different stages of a child's development.

Our goal is to provide support to families in difficult situations and give them the tools to handle conflicts constructively. We aim to create a trusting environment where parents can address their concerns and challenges and find solutions together. Our professionals are on hand to provide families with advice and support to help them deal with conflicts in the best possible way.

Admission Criteria

The admission criteria are calculated based on various factors. These criteria include:

  • Age of the child.
  • Residence of the child in the city or district.
  • Whether the child has changed facilities, and if so, the reasons for the change.
  • Whether the child has siblings attending the kindergarten.
  • Whether a parent lives alone with the child and is employed or seeking employment.
  • Employment status of both parents, including whether they are employed, seeking employment, or in training.
  • Proximity of the parents' workplace to the kindergarten.
  • Parental involvement in the kindergarten.
  • Presence of a stressful family situation.
  • Educational reasons that strongly support the child's admission.
  • Whether the child was unable to be considered for admission in the previous year.

The admission criteria are reviewed and coordinated annually with the advice of the institution's council. These criteria aim to ensure a fair and balanced admission process, taking into account various aspects related to the child, family, and educational considerations.
